Alegna Gonzalez won the 10km race walk gold at the IV GP Internacional Madrid Marcha

Mexican athlete Alegna Gonzalez won the 10km race walk gold at the IV GP Internacional Madrid Marcha part of the World Athletics Race Walking Tour. The “Mexican racewalking princess” won the event, clocking 43:06 min. The silver went to Evelyn Inga (Peru) with 43:51 min, while Li Peng (China) finished third with 43:55 min.

The Top 5 was completed by Antia Chamosa (Spain) and Ilse Guerrero (Mexico).

Alegna Gonzalez is 2020 San Jose Central American Championships 10,000m race walk champion, as well as the 2018 Tampere World U20 Championships 10,000m champion.

In men’s 10km race walk, Toshikazu Yamanishi (Japan) triumphed with the gold, clocking 38:50 min, defeating Caio Bonfim (Brazil) and Ricardo Ortiz (Mexico), whoe earned silver and bronze, respectively.

Francesco Fortunato (Italy) and Evan Dunfee (Canada) completed the Top 5.
