Ander Garair won the 100m title at the Tampere European Athletics U20 Championships

Athletics News . Sprints News Article

Spanish sprinter Ander Garair won the 100m title at the Tampere European Athletics U20 Championships. He clocked 10.40 sec (-0.7 m/s) for first place.

The battle for the other two places on the podium was so fierce that two athletes finished in second place with exactly the same times. Dutch athlete Jozuah Revierre and Britain’s Teddy Wilson clocked 10.47 sec (.464), with even the photo finish failing to separate them. Thus, both shared the silver and delighted their fans.

The Top 5 were completed by French athletes Ylann Bizasene and Lenny Chanteur, clocking 10.50 sec both, but missed the podium.

Spanish joy tonight was doubly strong after Andrea Njimi Tankeu Djeudji earlier won gold in the discus with a personal best of 54.28m. Curly Brown (Belgium) won the silver and Anne Juul Jensen (Denmark) triumphed with the bronze.
