Angelina Topic equaled the Serbian national record to win the high jump gold at the Orlen Cup in Lodz

Angelina Topic impressed in her season debut in the high jump at the Orlen Cup in Lodz, Poland. The European indoor silver medallist cleared five consecutive heights between 1.84m and 1.96m on her first attempt before asking for the bar to be raised to 1.98m.

After two unsuccessful attempts, on her third jump the bar remained in place, even though Angelina Topic touched it with her calves. She successfully cleared 1.98m, equaling her personal best and the Serbian national record.

Michaela Hruba (Czech Republic) remained second with 1.90m, while the bronze was for Maria Zodzik (Poland) with 1.87m.

The Top 5 were completed by Lilianna Batori (Hungary) and Marija Vukovic (Montenegro).
