Born on March 3, 2002, in Wigan, Greater Manchester, England, Keely Hodgkinson initially began her athletic career in swimming before joining Leigh Harriers at the age of nine, ultimately dedicating herself to running. She first gained recognition in 2012 when she competed among 70 finalists at the British Schools Modern Biathlon Championships in London, securing second place in the 500-meter run and finishing eighth overall after swimming 50m.
