Emmanouil Karalis vs Armand Duplantis at the Stockholm Diamond League pole vault event

World record holder in the pole vault, Armand Duplantis, will face his greatest rival, Emmanouil Karalis, at the Diamond League in his native Stockholm on June 15.

Mondo Duplantis is the undisputed king of the event, having won two Olympic titles and four Diamond Trophies, as well as breaking the world record 11 times in the past five years.

Olympic bronze medalist Emmanouil Karalis is one of the few who has come close to Duplantis’ staggering heights.

The Greek athletics star has been gaining momentum in recent years and recently cleared 6.01m at the Diamond League in Shanghai.

“It will be a lot of fun to meet Mondo for the first time at the BAUHAUS-galan. Competing against him on his home turf means a lot. He is not just a world record holder, he is also a very good friend of mine. I look forward to challenging each other to new heights”, shared Emmanouil Karalis.
