
Faith Kipyegon won her fourth world title in 1,500m
Faith Kipyegon continues to make history. The Kenyan runner won her fourth world title in the 1,500m outdoors after winning the final in Tokyo in 3:52.15 min. This is the second result in the history of the planetary outdoor championships. Her compatriot Dorcus Ewoi fought for the silver medal at the last moment, finishing in a personal best of 3:54.92 min.
Oceania record holder Jessica Hull kept close to Faith Kipyegon until the last 200m, but in the final meters her strength left her and she finished third in 3:55.16 min.
Another Kenyan, Nelly Chepchirchir, remained fourth in a personal best of 3:55.25 min.
The Top 5 was completed by Nikki Hiltz (USA), clocking 3:57.08 min.
Faith Kipyegon is three-time Olympics, four-time world, and five-time Diamond League champion in 1,500m. She also has another world title in 5,000m.
