
Keshorn Walcott is chasing a medal at the Tokyo World Championships
Olympic javelin throw champion Keshorn Walcott is looking forward to a strong comeback in 2025, issuing a warning to fellow stars in the sport Julius Yego, Neeraj Chopra and Arshad Nadeem. The Trinidadian javelin thrower has revealed his plans to return to the top after a troubled season full of injuries. Keshorn Walcott has made strategic changes as he looks to make his mark once again despite the stiff competition.
The 2025 World Championships will be the main event of the season and Keshorn Walcott intends to win a quota and try his luck at winning the elusive medal at such a forum.
“2024 was a good year. Starting with the challenge of having surgery and going into the season with a bit of an unknown factor, I believe the season has gone as well as it could have. I know everyone may have been disappointed, including myself, that I didn’t get a medal at the Olympics, but ultimately I’m still proud of what was achieved for the season”, said Keshorn Walcott.
Keshorn “Keshie” Walcott is an Olympic champion, having won gold in 2012. He is the first Caribbean male athlete, as well as the first of African descent, to win the gold medal in a throwing event in the history of the Olympics. He is also the holder of the North, Central American and Caribbean junior record. Keshorn Walcott is also bronze medalist from Rio 2016 Olympics, Pan American Games champion in 2015, as well as Commonwealth Games silver medalist in 2014.
