Molly Caudery started the season by winning the pole vault gold at the INIT Indoor Meeting Karlsruhe. The British athlete cleared 4.75m from her third attempt.
Molly Caudery started after clearing 4.30m and 4.45m from her first attempts and then 4.55m from her second attempt. She covered 4.65m from her first try as well, before setting the bar to 4.75m. After two fails, she succeeded to clear the 4.75m, which was enough for her to win the gold.
The silver went to Tina Sutej (Slovenia), who cleared 4.70m, but made three fails at 4.75m. The Slovenian athlete was close for winning the gold, as she was leading during last jumps, but at the end Molly Caudery had a successful try on 4.75m.
Tina Sutej cleared 4.30m from her first attempt and then 4.45m from the second try. She did not had a problems in 4.55m, but succeeded to clear 4.65m only from her third attempt. Luckily she covered 4.70m from her first attempt and had a chance to attack also 4.75m. However, she failed in her three attempts and thus remained second in the final standings.
The bronze in women’s pole vault at the INIT Indoor Meeting Karlsruhe went to Marie-Julie Bonnin (France), who finished with 4.65m and made three fails at 4.75m.
Elien Vekemans (Belgium) and Elina Lampela (Finalnd) missed the podium after covering 4.65m and 4.55m, respectively.
