Noah Lyles started 2025 season with 60m win at Florida College Championship
Olympic track and field champion Noah Lyles (USA) clocked 6.62 sec in his first appearance on the track in 2025. He achieved the result during the 60m indoor championships in Gainesville, Florida. Interestingly, Noah Lyles ran the same time in both the heats and the final.
It was also Noah Lyles’ first competition since the Paris 2024 Olympics, where he won the 100m title and took bronze in the 200m.
In the final, Noah Lyles got off to a slow start, running into a nearby lane with his training partner Udodi Onwuzurike (Nigeria). However, he recovered and won the 60m in 6.62 sec. Second place went to fellow countryman Caleb Dean in 6.68 sec, and third place went to Udodi Onwuzurike in 6.70 sec.
The six-time world champion’s time in this event is the second-fastest ever in the 60m indoors, trailing only Olympic medalist Kishane Thompson, who clocked 6.56 sec earlier in the day in Astana, Kazakhstan.
Noah Lyles, who took silver behind Christian Coleman at the 2024 World Indoor Championships, will defend his title at the Boston Indoor Grand Prix on February 2. Paris Olympic gold medalists Julien Alfred and Grant Holloway are also to compete in the Boston race.
