
Oleh Doroshchuk won the high jump gold at the Brussels Diamond League
The 2025 Apeldoorn European Indoor champion in the high jump Oleh Doroshchuk triumphed at the Brussels Diamond League, clearing 225cm on his first attempt for the gold. The Ukrainian high jumper achieved his first Diamond League victory this season, after earning the silver in Rome and the bronze in Silesia.
The silver in the men’s high jump went to Thomas Carmoy of Belgium, who cleared also 225cm but in his third attempt. Romaine Beckford (Jamaica) climbed also to the podium after clearing 222cm.
The Top 5 were completed by Paris 2024 Olympics champion Hamish Kerr (New Zealand) and Tomohiro Shinno (Japan), both with 218cm.
Ralford Mullings (Jamaica) won the men’s discus throw with 69.66m, leaving behind the current men’s world record holder Mykolas Alekna of Lithuania (68.82m) and Kristjan Ceh of Slovenia (67.13m).], who finished second and third, respectively.
In the men’s javelin throw, Julian Weber (Germany) won with a throw of 86.65m, while the London 2012 Olympics champion Keshorn Walcott of Trinidad and Tobago finished second with 86.30m, and the 2019 and 2022 world champion Anderson Peters (Grenada) was third with 85.17m.
In the women’s triple jump, Cuban athlete Leyanis Perez Hernandez won with 14.78m, ahead of her compatriot Davisleydi Velazco with 14.72m, as well as Jasmine Moore (USA) with 14.38m.
