
Patrizia van der Weken won the 60m gold at the INIT Indoor Meeting Karlsruhe
Patrizia van der Weken continue with her strong performance since the beginning of the 2025 season. The Luxembourg\’s sprinter won the 60m gold at the prestigious INIT Indoor Meeting Karlsruhe, clocking at 7.13 sec. The result was not quite remarkable, but she beat the competition, warming up for the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Apeldoorn, which will be held from 6th to 9th March.
Gemima Joseph (France) won the silver at the women’s 60m sprint in INIT Indoor Meeting Karlsruhe, lagging by 0.02 sec from the winner. Geraldine Frey (Switzerland), who finished in 7.16 sec.
Jael Bestue (Spain) and Gina Luckenkemper (Germany) missed the honors and completed the Top 5.
Patrizia van der Weken withdrew from the next tournaments until ORLEN Copernicus Cup in Torun, which starts on February 16, 2025.
“Another great competition in the books yesterday! We’ve decided to withdraw from tomorrow’s competition as my body isn’t feeling 100%, and we’re not taking any risks”, wrote she in her Instagram profile.
Patrizia van der Weken has a 60m personal best of 7.07 sec this season and is one of the big favorites for winning an honor from the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Apeldoorn.
