Record holder Jimmy Gressier returns to Paris
World 10,000m champion Jimmy Gressier will return to one of his favorite Diamond League events, the one in Paris on June 28th. A year after setting a French national record at the Charlety Stadium, the reigning Diamond League champion will once again compete in the 5,000m in Paris on June 28th.
Jimmy Gressier won the Diamond League 5,000m title last season, becoming only the third European to do so after Jakob Ingebrigtsen and Mo Farah. The triumph was one of several highlights of his season, in which Jimmy Gressier was also crowned world 10,000m champion and also broke his own French 5,000m record in Paris.
A year later, the Frenchman returned to Paris as the world number one, chasing a first Diamond League victory on home soil.
“I love Paris and the Charlety Stadium because every time I’ve run there, I’ve achieved good results and left with great memories”, said Jimmy Gressier.
