Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone clocked an impressive 11:21 sec to finish second in her first 100m hurdles event at the Philadelphia Grand Slam
The four-time Olympic champion and world record holder in the 400m hurdles, accustomed to dominating the event in one lap, was beaten only by Ackera Nugent (Jamaica), who won in 11:11 sec.
Ackera Nugent’s success gave her a double title at the weekend, securing her a perfect 24 points in the women’s short hurdles after also taking first place in the 100m hurdles on Saturday.
American sprinter Melissa Jefferson-Wooden clocked 10:73 sec in the 100m, cementing her victory in the short sprints by 24 points after her triumph in the 200m.
Marileidy Paulino of the Dominican Republic dominated the women’s long sprint group with 24 points after winning the 200m in 22:46 sec.
Britain’s Lina Nielsen won the 400m hurdles in 52:60 sec, while Ethiopia’s Diribe Welteji was fastest in the 800m in 1:58.94 min.
