Tameen Khan misses the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo due to injury
Pakistan’s fastest athlete Tameen Khan has been ruled out of the upcoming 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo after sustaining an injury during training. According to the Pakistan Athletics Federation (AFP), Tameen Khan was scheduled to compete in the women’s 100m sprint later this month. The federation had specifically secured her participation in the prestigious world competition, which was seen as a significant step for women’s athletics in Pakistan.
However, Tameen Khan sustained the injury during training.
After medical tests, including an MRI scan, doctors have advised her to take at least two weeks of complete rest, making her unable to compete in the championships.
“Tameen Khan was preparing with full dedication for the World Championships, but unfortunately the injury has sidelined her”, confirmed the officials.
They added that the federation would ensure proper rehabilitation so that she can return to the track soon.
