Three Olympic medalists will meet in the 400m event at Eugene Diamond League
Quincy Hall, Kirani James and Muzala Samukonga will compete in the men’s 400m at the Diamond League in Eugene next month. Three of the world’s top 400m runners will face off in the ninth Diamond League meet of the season at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene on July 5.
At Hayward Field, reigning Olympic champion Quincy Hall will compete with four-time Diamond League champion Kirani James and fellow Paris 2024 medalist Muzala Samukonga.
Quincy Hall won the gold in dramatic fashion with a personal best of 43.40 sec at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
After spending months out of action due to injury, he returned to elite Diamond League competition this year, scoring his first win of the season in Rome earlier this month.
Kirani James is a four-time Diamond League champion, having won the 400m title in 2011, 2015, 2022 and 2023. The London 2012 Olympic champion has 20 individual Diamond League victories, most recently in Eugene at the 2023 series finale.
Muzala Samukonga is ranked number three in the world and won bronze in Paris last August. He achieved his first Diamond League victory in Rome last season.
