
Tia Clayton won 60m gold at the World Athletics Tour Indoor’s Gold Label in Astana
Jamaican sprinter and World’s U20 champion Tia Clayton smashed the competition, winning the 60m gold at the Astana Indoor Meet for Amin Tuyakov in Astana Kazakhstan. The meeting is World Athletics Tour Indoor’s Gold Label.
Tia Clayton won the 60m event, clocking at 7.18 sec. Her twin sister Tina Clayton also was on the podium, finishing third with 7.36 sec. The silver in the event went to Lorene Dorcas Bazolo (Portugal) with 7.34 sec.
In men’s 60m hurdles, the former Walmart deli employee Dylan Beard earned the gold with 7.58 sec. He was notable for winning the 2024 Millrose Games 60m hurdles while being unsponsored and working as a Walmart deli employee. IN Astana, the silver in 60m hurdles went to Damian Czykier (Poland) with 7.66 sec and the bronze was for Roger Iribarne (Cuba).
Jessica Wright (USA) won the 400m women’s event, while Yumi Tanaka (Japan) triumphed in the 60m hurdles women’s event.
