Timothy Cheruiyot won one-mile race at the Diamond League in Oslo after photo finish
A split-second drama decided the men’s one-mile race at the Diamond League in Oslo, Norway. Doha 2019 world 1500m champion and Tokyo Olympic silver medallist Timothy Cheruiyot (Kenya) was declared the winner in 3:48.21 min after a photo finish.
The Paris 2024 Olympics 1,500m bronze medallist Yared Nuguse (USA) finished second with the same result, while Australian Cameron Myers finished third in 3:48.35 min.
The Top 5 was completed by Hobbs Kessler (USA) and Jake Wightman (Great Britain), clocking 3:49.13 min and 3:49.36 min, respectively.
Timothy Cheruiyot returns into form after disappointing results at the Wanda Diamond League Xiamen and Shaoxing/Keqiao, where finished 13th in 5,000m and 4th in 3,000m. However, he succeeded to grab the 1,500m bronze at the BAUHAUS-Galan in Stockholm.
