
Armand Duplantis is unstoppable at Silesia Diamond League
Armand Duplantis is unstoppable and won another gold in men’s pole vault at the Silesia Diamond League, clearing 6.10m. After a few days ago he set a world record in the event of 6.29m for 13th time in a row, now he cleared 6.10m, which was enough for the victory.
Emmanouil Karalis of Greece was second with 6.00m and the bronze was shared between Kurtis Marschall (Australia) and Menno Vloon (Netherlands) with 5.90m.
In women’s pole vault, which was not part of the Diamond League’s events, Marie-Julie Bonnin (France) won the gold with 4.90m, followed by Hanga Klekner (Hungary) and Brynn King (USA).
In men’s high jump, Hamish Kerr (New Zealand) won the gold with 233cm. He smashed the competition and left the second JuVaughn Harrison (USA), who cleared 228cm far behind. The bronze was for Oleh Doroshchuk (Ukraine).
The world record holder in the high jump Yaroslava Mahuchikh won the gold, cleariung 200cm. The Ukrainian athlete was far from her top result, but succeeded to win the competition, ahead of her biggest rival in the event Nicola Olyslagers (Australia) days before the Tokyo World Athletics Championships. Imke Onnen of Germany finished third.
