
Beatrice Chebet will compete at the Cursa dels Nassos in Barcelona at the New Year’s eve
Double Paris 2024 Olympic champion Beatrice Chebet will celebrate the New Year with a race. The Kenyan will defend her 5km title in Barcelona on December 31.
The 10,000m world record holder set a world record in the previous edition, covering the 5km distance in 14:13 minutes in her 2023 victory.
Before Beatrice Chebet, the 5km world record was held by Ethiopian Senbere Teferi with a time of 14:29 minutes in 2021.
Cursa dels Nassos is a running event in Barcelona held on December 31st, including 10km and 5km courses. On the short course were set a total of 3 world records during the years of the event.
Beatrice Chebet is in great form this season, winning the Paris 2024 Olympics gold in 10,000m and 5,000m, but also winning two golds at the 2024 Belgrade World Cross Country Championships, Diamond League Final in 5,000m, as well as several more athletics events.
