
Bozhidar Saraboyukov will close the season at the World Athletics Ultimate Championship in Budapest
Bozhidar Saraboyukov will close his successful season by participating on September 12 (Saturday) in the debut edition of the World Athletics Ultimate Championship in Budapest. The national record holder in the long jump will be the only Bulgarian in the first-ever absolute championship of the World Athletics.
The competition will determine the champion of champions. It pits Olympic and world champions, the winners of the Diamond League final and the athletes with the highest ranking in the world rankings. All of them will compete in a competition that promises an unprecedented show for the spectators and a historic prize fund of 10 million dollars.
In the summer, Bozhidar Saraboyukov won a bronze medal at the European Championships in Birmingham, improved the national record and took part in each of the Diamond League tournaments, recording three podiums, including one victory.
In the long jump, the eight athletes will start with two attempts each. After that, the top six in the standings will make a third attempt, and only the top four will make it to the fourth and final attempt. For first place, the athletes will win $150,000, for second – $75,000, and for third – $40,000.
