Daniel Ebenyo wants to be included in Kenya’s marathon team for the 2025 Tokyo World Championships
Daniel Ebenyo has failed to make the Kenyan national team for a series of events and has appealed to Athletics Kenya to include him in the marathon team for the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo, Japan. The world 10,000m silver medalist had hoped to make his Olympic debut at the 2024 Paris Games, but he crashed out during the 10,000m qualifying at the Prefontaine Classic and finished eighth.
Daniel Ebenyo had hoped to be added to the team after his impressive form this season, but Athletics Kenya decided to include the top three finishers from the Prefontaine Classic in the team.
To ease the pain of not making the Olympic team, Daniel Ebenyo made his debut in the Chicago Marathon and finished in an impressive sixth place.
Daniel Ebenyo has since been asking to be included in the marathon team for the World Championships.
“I beg Kenya Athletics to include me in the marathon team because I am serious about the marathon. Chicago was my first and I think I will give my all and I beg Kenya Athletics to give me a chance in the marathon team”, said Daniel Ebenyo in an interview.
