Athletics News . Sprints News Article

Nigerian-born sprinter Favour Ofili continued her stellar 2025 season with an impressive victory at the ATX Sprint Classic in Texas. On Saturday, she triumphed in the women’s 100m final in 10.78 sec (+3.1 m/s).

Favour Ofili dominated a strong field, finishing well ahead of American Olympic medalist Gabrielle Thomas, who took second place in 10.95 sec, and Kayla White, who came in third in 10.97 sec. Fellow Nigerian Rosemary Chukwuma also performed well, finishing fifth in 10.98 sec.

The win added to her promising start to the season. Favour Ofili opened her campaign in April in Baton Rouge, where she clocked 10.99 sec (+0.4 m/s).

Despite recent news surrounding her change of citizenship from Nigeria to Turkey, Favour Ofili appears unwavering, displaying brilliant form and silencing any doubts with her speed. Her current form underlines her growing presence among the world’s elite sprinters.
