
Femke Bol and Karsten Warholm won 400m hurdles gold in Silesia Diamond League with world leading results
Femke Bol won 400m hurdles gold at the Diamond League’s Silesia Kamila Skolimowska Memorial, improving her world lead to 51.91 sec, warming up for the coming Tokyo World Athletics Championships in September. This is her seventh sub-52 second clocking of her career and her 29th Diamond League win.
Femke Bol smashed the competition in the event, as the silver medalist Emma Zapletalova (Slovakia) clocked 53.58 sec and the bronze medalist Jasmine Jones (USA) finished in 53.64 sec.
The Top 5 were completed by Amalie Iuel (Norway) and Shiann Salmon (Jamaica), who narrowly missed the honors.
In women’s 100m hurdles, Masai Russell (USA) won the gold with 12.19 sec. Tonea Marshall (USA) finished second for the silver and Tobi Amusan (Nigeria) was third with the bronze.
Norwegian hurdler Karsten Warholm, who is the world record holder, clocked 46.28 sec in men’s 400m hurdles to win the gold at Silesia Diamond League for a new season’s best in the event. The silver was Ezekiel Nathaniel (Nigeria) and the bronze went to Abderrahman Samba (Qatar).
In men’s 110m hurdles there was a full domination of the American athletes, who occupied the podium. Cordell Tinch won the gold, while Olympics champion Grant Holloway finished second and Eric Edwards was third.
