
Grant Holloway and Cyrena Samba-Mayela confirmed participation at the Paris Diamond League
The Olympics 110m hurdles champion Grant Holloway will return to the track of his triumph on June 20. He will join French hurdle stars Cyrena Samba-Mayela and Wilhem Belocian for the Paris Diamond League.
Grant Holloway won gold at the Paris 2024 Olympics last year, clocking in 12.99 sec. The American hurdler is also a three-time world champion in the event and the winner of the 2022 Diamond Trophy.
Grant Holloway holds the second-fastest individual in history for 110m hurdles, with a personal record of 12.81 sec, established during the US Olympic Trials on June 26, 2021. He is also a three-time world champion, having secured titles in 2019 in Doha, 2022 in Eugene, and 2023 in Budapest. In the 60m hurdles, he has claimed the world indoor champion title three times (2022 in Belgrade, 2024 in Glasgow, and 2025 in Nanjing) and currently holds the world indoor record with a time of 7.27 sec, achieved at the 2024 USA Indoor Track and Field Championships.
European champion Cyrena Samba-Mayela, who won silver in the 100m at the Paris 2024 Olympics, is eager to return to the French capital and show her best in front of her home crowd.
Cyrena Samba-Mayela achieved remarkable success by securing the gold medal in the 60m hurdles at the 2022 World Indoor Championships. Additionally, she earned a silver medal at the 2024 World Athletics Indoor Championships, where she set a new French national record with a time of 7.73 sec. Furthermore, at the 2024 European Athletics Championships, she claimed the gold medal, achieving a personal best, national record, and meeting record of 12.31 sec.
