
Hubert Troscianka won the European U20 title in the decathlon with new world record
Polish athletics talent Hubert Troscianka won the European title in the decathlon for U20 juniors with a new world record and meeting record. Born in 2006, the athlete collected 8,514 points in the two-day competition and corrected the previous top achievement at this age of Germany’s Niklas Kaul.
In the individual events, Hubert Troscianka achieved a personal best of 10.74 sec in the 100m, 7.26m in the long jump, 15.48m in the shot put, 1.94m in the high jump, 46.21 secin the 400m, 14.23 sec in the 110m hurdles, 43.36m in the discus throw, 4.80m in the pole vault, 68.87m in the javelin throw and 4:28.59 min in the 1,500m.
Hubert Troscianka is also World U20 silver medalist in decathlon from Peru World Athletics U20 Championships in 2024.
The silver medal went to the Dutch athlete, Luuk Pelkmans, with a personal record of 8,293 points, and the bronze medal went to the Swiss Leon Krummenacher, also with a personal best of 7,972 points.
