
Josh Kerr and Yared Nuguse in a one-mile battle at the Millrose Games
Olympic and world indoor medalists Josh Kerr and Yared Nuguse will renew their rivalry at the Millrose Games in New York on February 8. The event is part of the World Indoor Athletics Tour with a “Gold Label” and the two will compete in the one-mile run.
Josh Kerr is the world champion in the 1500m and last year in Glasgow won the planetary title in the 3000m indoor. At the Olympic Games in Paris, he finished second in the 1500m, and the American athlete Yared Nuguse took the bronze medal in the discipline.
Yared Nuguse has won the one-mile run twice in New York. Last year he triumphed in 3:47.83 min, and in 2023 he won with a personal best of 3:47.38 min.
Josh Kerr’s personal best in the one-mile indoor run is 3:48.87 min from 2022.
Yared Nuguse’s achievements are No 2 and No 3 in the all-time world rankings for the indoor mile, led by Ethiopian Olympic athlete Yomif Kejelcha, who set the world record of 3:47.01 min in Boston in 2019.
Josh Kerr also competed at the Millrose Games last year, setting a world best two-mile time of 8:00.67 min.
