
Julian Weber won the javelin throw Diamond Trophy with a new personal best
Munich 2022 European javelin throw champion Julian Weber continues his impressive form since the start of the season. The German athlete won the first Diamond Trophy of his career after setting a personal best and world best of 91.51m. Julian Weber started the competition with 91.37m and his best result came on his second attempt in the sector. Until today, his personal best was 91.06m from earlier in the season.
Tokyo Olympic champion and current world champion Neeraj Chopra finished second, more than 6 meters behind the winner, after his best attempt reached 85.01m. Keshorn Walcott completed the top three with 84.95m.
In the women’s javelin throw, the victory and the diamond trophy went to Elina Tzengko (Greece) with 64.57m. The silver was for Adriana Vilagos (Serbia) with 62.96m and the bronze was for Jo-Ane du Plessis (South Africa) with 62.26m.
