Athletics News . Javelin Throw News Article

Beijing 2015 javelin throw world champion Julius Yego won the gold at the Paavo Nurmi meeting, part of the World Athletics Tour in Turku, Finland. He recorded a result of 83.08m, which is his season’s best, to secure the victory in the event.

The silver in the event went to Cyprian Mrzyglod (Poland), who also improved his season’s best of 82.90m and was close to the leader, but remained second.

The bronze was for Toni Keranen (Finland), who recorded 81.96m, also improved his season’s best.

The Top 5 were completed by Keshorn Walcott (Trinidad and Tobago) and Eemil Porvari (Finland)

Less than a week ago Julius Yego won the gold at the Motonet GP Lahti with 82.95m after the very shaky start of the season by finishing 5th at the Kip Keino Classic and 9th in the Doha Diamond League.
