American track and field sprinter Kenny Bednarek improved his personal best to win the 100m gold at the Philadelphia Grand Slam. The athlete finished in 9:86 sec, improving his top result by 0.01 sec, and triumphed in the short sprint group, collecting 24 points.
Olympic silver medalist Josh Kerr (Great Britain) edged gold medalist Cole Hocker by just seven hundredths of a second in a thrilling 1,500m race, finishing in 3:34.44 min.
American Trevor Bassitt won the 400m hurdles in 45:47 sec, beating Alison dos Santos and Chris Robinson. He leads the men’s long hurdles group with 20 points.
Americans Trey Cunningham won the 100m hurdles in 10:36 sec and Nico Young won the 3,000m in his first Grand Slam appearance, while Dominican Alexander Ogando won the men’s 200m in 20:13 sec.
The Grand Slam season will conclude with the fourth event in Los Angeles from June 27-29.
