Lamont Marcell Jacobs admitted the problems he has been facing in the US over the past year
Tokyo 2021 Olympic 100m champion Lamont Marcell Jacobs has admitted to the struggles he has faced in the past year of training in the US.
“Last year in the US was tough for me because I love burgers and fries and everything, so it was really hard to stay focused and just eat at home. But I know what I have to do, what I have to eat, what I have to not eat, so I try to balance my meals every time. Sometimes I eat a lot of burgers and fries”, said Lamont Marcell Jacobs ahead of the Boston tournament a few days ago, where he finished fourth in the 60m final.
Lamont Marcell Jacobs is an accomplished Italian sprinter and former long jumper. He achieved notable success as the champion of the 100m at the 2020 Olympic Games, as well as the 60m world champion in 2022. Additionally, he secured the title of European champion in the 100m in both 2022 and 2024. Jacobs was also part of the gold medal-winning 4×100 m relay team at the 2020 Olympics. He currently holds the European records for both the 100m and the 60m, and he is recognized as the first Italian athlete to qualify for and win a medal in the men’s 100m Olympic final.
