Letsile Tebogo kicks off 2025 season with 400m run in Australia
Paris 2024 Olympic 200m champion Letsile Tebogo will make his first start of the year in Melbourne, Australia. The Botswanan talent will compete in the 400m on March 29.
Letsile Tebogo, who made history as Botswana’s first Olympic gold medalist with a convincing 200m victory in Paris last year, is looking forward to starting the new season with this bold challenge.
“Starting the season with this long-distance challenge will set the stage for what’s to come. I’m ready to push my limits and make every moment count”, said Letsile Tebogo.
The 21-year-old star will turn his attention to the longer 400m distance after a glittering 2024 season that also saw him win silver with the 4x400m relay at the Olympics and win the coveted World Athletics Athlete of the Year title.
For Letsile Tebogo, this tournament represents an opportunity to cement his status as one of the most versatile and talented sprinters in the sport.
“I’m excited to be competing in Australia for the first time and to start my season. I’m looking forward to the electric support of the Australian crowd, let’s make it a race to remember”, added he.
