Letsile Tebogo revealed what went wrong in the men’s 100m at the London Diamond League
Letsile Tebogo has hinted at what may have affected his performance at the London Diamond League, vowing to come back stronger. Tebogo has revealed what went wrong in the men’s 100m at the London Diamond League.
The reigning Olympic 200m champion entered the race hoping to make a mark but failed to impress, finishing seventh in 10.12 sec.
Oblique Seville took the win, crossing the finish line in 9.86 sec. Reigning Olympic 100m champion Noah Lyles was second in 10.00 sec. Another Jamaican, Ackeem Blake, finished third in 10.08 sec.
Letsile Tebogo revealed he was tired before the race but admitted that was no excuse for his performance. It was his second straight Diamond League loss, as he finished second to Noah Lyles in the men’s 200m at the Monaco Diamond League.
Before competing in London, the 200m bronze medalist finished second in the 100m at the Grand Prix of Brescia.
“I have to get up and give it my all. It’s not my best shot”, said Letsile Tebogo. “But for now, we have to take the results into account, look back at the race and see where it went wrong, and then fix all that. Then come back a stronger man because there’s still a lot of work to do. It’s not easy from Eugene to Monaco, from Monaco to China and then back here. The body needs a break. For now, it’s just about resting a little bit and getting back up”, added he.
