Marithe-Therese Engondo and Jerome Hostettler triumphed in high jump at the Zurich Swiss Championships 2026

Marithe-Therese Engondo won the women’s high jump gold at the Zurich Swiss Championships 2026. The World U20 silver medalist and a three-time national champion, cleared 1.89m, which was enough for triumphing with her second outdoor and fourth overall national title.

The result of Marithe-Therese Engondo is just one centimeter from her personal best of 1.90m, achieved at the BKK Freudenberg Hochsprung Gala in Weinheim in 2022.

The silver in women’s high jump event at the Zurich Swiss Championships was for Celine Weber, who cleared 1.85m. The bronze went to Nadja Luthi with 1.79m.

Jerome Hostettler dominated the men’s high jump at the Swiss Championships, clearing a season’s best and equalizing his personal best of 2.10m. The young athletics talent won his first national outdoor title and triumphing earlier in the year at the Swiss Indoor Championships with 2.07m.

The silver in the event went to Alain Pfammatter with 2.07m and the bronze was for Leo Courtine with 2.04m.

The 2025 national indoor champion Jan Drabik remained out of the podium with the same result of 2.04m.
