
Milica Gardasevic won the long jump gold at the Belgrade Indoor Meeting
Milica Gardasevic of Serbia grabbed the long jump gold at the Belgrade Indoor Meeting with 6.61m. The meeting is part of the World Athletics Tour tournament with a “gold label”. With this request, she equaled her season’s best, which also achieved at the Gorzow Jump Festival in the last day of January.
Milica Gardasevic is a two-time European Team Championships 1st League gold medalist, 2022 Mediterranean Games champion, 2017 European U20 champion and one of the biggest names in the long jump in Serbia. Her personal best is 6.91m.
At the Belgrade Indoor Meeting, the Romanian athlete Alina Rotaru-Kottmann came second with 6.57m, and Anna Matuszewicz (Poland) took third place with 6.54m.
Bulgaria’s top track and field female athlete for the past four years, Plamena Mitkova, improved her personal best for the season after achieving 6.44m. However, this achievement was not enough for the athlete for a place in the top three and she remained fourth. Plamena Mitkova recorded this result in her fourth attempt.
The Top 5 was completed by another Romanian athlete – Ramona Elena Verman, who jumped 6.30m.
