Noah Lyles won the 100m sprint at Rome Diamond League, stunning Emmanuel Eseme, Letsile Tebogo, and Marcell Jacobs. The American sprinter made a fantastic start and deservedly won the race at Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
Noah Lyles clocked 9.88 sec ahead of Emmanuel Eseme (Cameroon), who finished in 9.94 sec to set a national record. The bronze went to Letsile Tebogo (Botswana), clocking 9.95 sec. Two more sprinters finished below 10 sec – Jordan Anthony (USA) with 9.96 sec and Lamont Marcell Jacobs (Italy) with 9.99 sec.
“This season might be different but it doesn’t mean the goal is different. I am not showing anywhere to lose, I am here to win. Ten metres before the finish line I knew the race was over and I had already won it. I was thinking about how I was going to celebrate it”, said Noah Lyles after the final of the sprint.
The result of Noah Lyles is second fastest in season, behind Kayinsola Ajayi (Nigeria), who clocked 9.84 sec in end of May at NCAA Division I East First Rounds in Kentucky, USA.
