Athletics News . Long Jump News . Shot Put News Article

Olympic long jump champion from Tokyo and European champion from Rome 2024 Malaika Mihambo has confirmed her participation in the home tournament in Karlsruhe on February 7. The competition is the fifth stop of the World Athletics Tour indoor with a “Gold Label”.

Malaika Mihambo is a German athlete, 2020 Olympic champion and 2022 world champion in long jump. At the 2024 Summer Olympics, she added a silver medal in the long jump.

Also appearing in Germany is two-time world shot put champion Chase Jackson, who will also start in Astana at the end of January.

Chase Jackson won the gold medal at the 2022 World Athletics Championships in women’s shot put, which made her the first American woman to win a shot put world title at the World Athletics Championships.

In Karlsruhe, she will face world indoor champion Sarah Mitton (Canada) and local favorite Yemisi Ogunleye, who won Olympic gold in Paris last year.
