Phoebe Gill will compete in 1,500m at the Irish Milers in Belfast
The British Olympics athlete Phoebe Gill will return to this year’s Irish Milers in Belfast following her record-breaking 800m performance last May.
Phoebe Gill, then 17, broke the 45-year-old European record in the 800m for girls under-18, clocking 1:57.86 min to shave almost four seconds off her personal best.
Her win in Belfast marked the start of a string of remarkable performances for the athlete, who has won the 800m title at the British Championships and reached the semi-finals at Paris 2024 Olympics.
Phoebe Gill plans to compete over 1,500m at this year’s meeting in Belfast on 10 May.
Phoebe Gill is 800m gold medalist at the 2023 Port of Spain Commonwealth Youth Games and has a personal best of 400m: 53.3 sec in 400m, 1:57.86 min in 800m, and 4:11.96 min in 1,500m.
