Athletics News . Long Jump News Article

Bulgarian athletics talent Stiliyan Orlinov improved the 42-year-old national record in the indoor long jump for juniors under 18, after winning the national title at this age with a jump of 7.43m. He achieved this result in his fifth attempt. Thus, he corrected the previous record for juniors under 18, which was 7.38m by Todor Dobrev Angelov from 1983. Stiliyan Orlinov’s achievement is also a covered standard for participation in the European Junior U20 Championships in Tampere in August.

Stiliyan Orlinov’s result also places him in second place in the European junior rankings for the season. It is headed by Frenchman Remi Mourie with 7.63m from January 4. Third is the son of Yunier Perez – Anthony Yunier Perez (Spain) with 7.42m.

The silver in the long jump among the juniors was earned by Stefan Stefanov with 6.73m, and the bronze by Boris Stoev with 6.71m.

In the long jump among the girls, the gold medal was taken by Viktoria Angelova with 5.65m, followed by the champion of the triple jump Anzhelina Petkova with 5.51m and by Karina Tsoncheva with 5.50m.

In the high jump among the juniors under 18, Kristiyan Tsanev became the winners with 1.95m and his teammate Natali Zaharieva won in girls’ competition with 1.73m.
