
Valarie Allman won the discus throw gold at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo
Valarie Allman (USA) remains unbeaten in the discus throw event and won the title at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo. The American athlete recorded 69.48m and although quite below her season’s best, she was far ahead of her rivals in the event and won her first world title after the silver in 2023 and the bronze in 2022.
Jorinde van Klinken (Netherlands) won the silver in the women’s discus throw with 67.50m, while the bronze was for Silinda Morales (Cuba) with 67.25m.
The Top 5 were completed by Vanessa Kamga (Sweden) and the Croatian legend in the event Sandra Elkasevic, who has two Olympics and two World, as well as the record seven European titles. However, both narrowly missed the podium with 66.61m and 65.82m, respectively.
Out of the medalists was also the Paris 2024 Olympics silver medalist and 2022 Eugene world champion Bin Feng (China), who recorded 65.28m for the seventh position in the final.
Valarie Allman is the queen of discus throw recent years. She is unbeaten on any meeting she participated during the 2024 and 2025. Valarie Allman is also two-time Olympics champion, five-time Diamond League Final winner, and seven-time national champion. Her personal best in the discus throw is 73.52m, which is national and North American record.
