William Reais won the 100m and 200m national titles at the Swiss Championships in Zurich. The Swiss sprinter gave a tone of the starting national championship, that showed high‑level performances, emotional victories, and clear signals of Switzerland’s athletic strength ahead of major international competitions.
William Reais thrilled the home crowd by winning with a personal best of 10.16 sec, missing the European Championship qualifying mark by just one hundredth. His run confirmed his status as Switzerland’s premier sprinter and a serious contender on the continental stage.
Timothe Mumenthaler remained second in the 100m, clocking 10.19 sec, while the bronze was for the teenage talent Akira Eghagha, who clocked 10.30 sec.
William Reais triumphed also in 200m, clocking 20.37 sec, followed again by his main competitor Timothe Mumenthaler with 20.51 sec. The bronze in men’s 200m went to Felix Svensson.
Lionel Spitz won the men’s 400m gold at the Swiss Championships in Zurich, clocking 45.34 sec. This was his fifth national title. The silver was for Haydn Brotschi 46.10 sec, while the bronze was for Ricky Petrucciani with 46.13 sec
