Zoe Hobbs won the 100m gold at the Paavo Nurmi Games

New Zealand’s sprinter Zoe Hobbs won the women’s 100m gold at the Paavo Nurmi Games in Turku, Finland. She clocked at 11.07 sec to win triumph with the victory and set a personal season’s best.

The silver in the event was for Boglarka Takacs (Hungary), who lagged just 0.04 sec from the winner, while Thelma Davies (Liberia) was third with 11.14 sec. The Top 5 were completed by Audrey Leduc (Canada) and Patrizia van der Weken (Luxembourg) with 11.16 sec and 11.20 sec, respectively.

In men’s 100m event, the 2024 European bronze medalist Romell Glave (Great Britain) defeated the Olympics and world champion in 4x100m relay Jerome Blake (Canada) by just 0.01 sec to triumph with the gold. The British athlete finished in 10.08 sec, while his opponent clocked at 10.09 sec for the silver.

The bronze went to Benjamin Azamati (Ghana), who clocked 10.10 sec, also just 0.01 sec from the runner-up.

The Top 5 were completed by Simon Hansen (Denmark) and Benjamin Richardson (South Africa), far behind the leaders.
