American pole vault athlete Allison Stokke

Athletes Article

Allison Stokke is a distinguished American athlete specializing in track and field, as well as a prominent fitness model. She set multiple American records in high school pole vaulting, and photographs of her at the age of seventeen gained significant traction online, leading to her status as an internet sensation.

Born on March 22, 1989, in Newport Beach, California, United States, Allison Stokke initially pursued gymnastics before transitioning to pole vaulting during her time at Newport Harbor High School, where she quickly established herself as one of the nation’s top young vaulters. She furthered her education at the University of California, Berkeley, where she competed for the California Golden Bears track team.

Allison Stokke participated in two NCAA Division I Championships, where she attained All-American recognition during the 2011 NCAA Indoor Championships. Additionally, she received regional all-academic honors, reflecting her outstanding achievements in both athletics and academics.

Allison Stokke sought to qualify for the American Olympic team at the 2012 United States Olympic Trials; however, she was unable to register a height. She remained active in pole vaulting at national competitions until 2017.

Following her college graduation, Allison Stokke focused on professional competition, participating in events at both national and international levels. During the 2012 season, she achieved a personal best of 4.36m while preparing for the 2012 London Olympics. Unfortunately, her performance at the 2012 United States Olympic Trials was disappointing, as she was among the 12 competitors who could not clear the initial height of 4.25m. Subsequently, her results declined, with her best jump recorded at 4.20m in 2013 and 3.95m in 2014.

In 2015, Allison Stokke improved her performance with a jump of 4.15m, securing third place at the National Pole Vault Summit, yet this still placed her outside the top 30 American women that year. In 2017, she achieved notable success by winning the US indoor national championship in pole vaulting and finishing as the runner-up at the outdoor national championships. Additionally, she represented the United States at the 2017 World Championships in London, where she secured an eighth-place finish.

Beyond her athletic achievements, Allison Stokke has garnered significant attention off the track, attributed to her striking appearance and modeling endeavors. She has appeared in various magazines and advertising campaigns, amassing a substantial following on social media platforms.
