
British pole vaulter Molly Caudery
Molly Caudery, a 22-year-old British athlete, has made a name for herself in the world of pole vaulting. Born on March 17, 2000, in Truro, England, she developed her skills in the sport at a young age.
Molly Caudery’s competitive career took off in 2015 when she won the pole vault gold at several prestigious events, including the Birmingham UK Youth Development U20/U17 Championships, the Bedford England U17/U15 Championships, the Manchester UK School Games, the Cardiff Christmas Classic, and the Grangemouth SIAB Schools’ International. She also secured a silver medal at the Hendon South of England Junior Championships that year.
Since then, Molly Caudery has continued to excel, becoming a World Indoor champion, European bronze medalist, Commonwealth Games silver medalist and a two-time European U20 and U23 Championships silver medalist. Her personal best in the pole vault stands at an impressive 4.75m.
In 2016, Molly Caudery achieved a personal best of 4.06m, breaking the 4-meter barrier and winning the gold at the Yeovil U17 Events. During that season, she had multiple victories including gold medals at the Sheffield England U20/U17/U15 Indoor Championships, Loughborough School Games, Gateshead English Schools’ Championships, and Loughborough International. Additionally, she made her debut at the national championships and secured a 6th place finish at the Birmingham UK Championships.
Following her successful season, Molly Caudery went on to win the silver at the Grosseto European U20 Championships in 2017. She continued her winning streak by claiming gold medals at the Bedford England U23/U20 Championships, Eton UK Women’s League, Birmingham English Schools Championships, and Sheffield England U20/U17/U15 Indoor Championships. Furthermore, she earned a bronze medal at the Loughborough International competition.
In 2018, Molly Caudery made her mark by participating in her first major championship at the Berlin European Athletics Championships, although she did not advance to the final round. She also took part in the IAAF World Indoor Tour at the Glasgow Muller Indoor Grand Prix, where she narrowly missed out on a medal, finishing in 7th place. Despite these challenges, that season proved to be significant for her as she secured her first national title, winning gold at the Birmingham UK Indoor Championships. Additionally, she claimed gold at both the Bedford England U23/U20 Championships and the Birmingham ECCC Group A. Molly also competed in the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, where she placed 5th.
The years 2019 and 2020 were more challenging for Molly, as she faced difficulties in her performance, with her most notable achievement being a silver medal at the Welsh Senior Championships.

She followed that up by earning another silver at the Muller UK Athletics Championships. Molly Caudery continued her momentum, finishing 7th at the Munich European Athletics Championships and competing at the prestigious Eugene World Athletics Championships.
If that wasn’t enough, the superstar also claimed gold at the Venizelia Chania International Meeting, silver at the Meeting Iberoamericano, and bronze at the Filothei Women Gala. In 2023, Molly Caudery achieved a commendable 5th place at the Budapest World Athletics Championships. Participating in the prestigious Diamond League events at the London Athletics Meet and Weltklasse, Molly showcased her incredible talent, although she narrowly missed out on securing a medal. Despite this, her dedication and perseverance shone through as she claimed the gold at the 59th Palio Citta della Quercia, International Pole Vault for Women, and the UK Athletics Championships in Manchester during the season.
Molly Caudery made her most successful season in 2024, winning the bronze at the Roma European Athletics Championships, as well as the gold at the Glasgow World Athletics Indoor Championships. She also won the gold at the Doha Diamond League and the bronze at the London and Monaco Diamond Leagues. Traditionally, Molly Caudery triumphed with the gold at the Birmingham UK Indoor Championships.
