
Karsten Warholm starts Diamond League season with two meetings in China
World record holder in the 400m hurdles, Karsten Warholm, will begin his Diamond League season with meetings in China – Xiamen and Shanghai/Keqiao. The Norwegian superstar will kick off his bid to reclaim the Diamond Trophy with back-to-back appearances in China in the first two meets of the 2025 season.
The first race of the Diamond calendar is on April 26, the second on May 3. Karsten Warholm still holds the world record with a time of 45.94 sec.

Karsten Warholm won the Olympics gold from the Tokyo 2020 Games and a silver medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics. He is a three-time world champion and holds the world record in the 400m hurdles.
Karsten Warholm has achieved gold medals in the 400m hurdles at the World Athletics Championships in 2017, 2019, and 2023, in addition to winning at the European Athletics Championships in 2018, 2022, and 2024. He is the first athlete in history to secure three titles in the 400m hurdles at the World Championships. Furthermore, he has claimed the title of Diamond League champion in the 400m hurdles on two occasions. In July 2021, he set a new world record in the 400m hurdles, surpassing a 29-year-old mark. The following month, during the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Karsten Warholm clinched the gold medal in the 400m hurdles with a remarkable time of 45.94 sec, breaking his own world record by more than three-quarters of a second.
