Letsile Tebogo, Kishane Thompson and Akani Simbine will compete at the Shanghai Diamond League
World medalists Letsile Tebogo, Kishane Thompson and Akani Simbine will renew their rivalry at the Diamond League in Shanghai/Keqiao on May 3.
Botswana’s athlete Letsile Tebogo won the 200m Olympic title in Paris last year, having previously won silver medals in the 100m and 200m at the World Championships in Budapest. He finished sixth in the 100m final in Paris and also won silver in the 4x400m relay.
Jamaican sprinter Kishane Thompson won silver in the 100m at the Paris 2024 Olympics. In January 2025, he achieved a personal best of 6.48 sec in the 60m at the Central Hurdles, Relays & Field Events Meet held at GC Foster College in St. Catherine. This performance ranks him fifth on the all-time Jamaican list and was accomplished despite a headwind of -2.1 m/s.
Akani Simbine finished fourth in the Paris 2024 Olympics 100m final, and a few days ago won his first individual medal at a major forum, after earning bronze in the 60m at the 2025 World Athletics Indoor Championships in Nanjing (China).
In Shanghai/Keqiao, the trio will join Tokyo 2020 Olympics 100m champion Lamont Marcell Jacobs, this winter’s world and European 60m champion Jeremiah Azu, as well as 2019 Doha World 100m champion Christian Coleman.
