Menno Vloon topped the pole vault’s world rankings for the season

Menno Vloon (Netherlands) opened the winter season in good form and won in France. Menno Vloon topped the world rankings for the season after securing first place with 5.82m. He beat home team representatives Thibaut Collet (5.70m) and Baptiste Thiery (5.61m).
Menno Vloon holds the Dutch record with 5.96m and will have the opportunity to fight for another big-league title at the home European Championships in Apeldoorn (6-9 March).
Menno Vloon finished eighth at the 2015 European U23 Championships. He also competed at the 2012 World Junior Championships, the 2016 European Championships and the 2017 World Championships without reaching the final.
The reigning European U23 champion Angelica Moser won the women’s event with 4.51m.
