Magdalena Bokun is a prominent athlete from Poland, focusing on the long jump discipline. Born on May 29, 1996, in Lelis, Poland, Magdalena Bokun began her athletic career at a young age, quickly emerging as a promising talent in Polish athletics. She secured the title of Polish youth champion in the long jump three times, in the years 2016, 2017, and 2018.
Her competitive debut took place in 2012, where she achieved a gold medal at the Warszawa U18 Events, a silver medal at the Warszawa Halowy Mityng WMOZLA, and a bronze medal at the Siedlce U18 Events. She also competed in the Spala Polish U18 Indoor Championships, finishing in fifth position.
Magdalena Bokun had an impressive year in 2013, earning a silver medal at the Spala Polish U18 Indoor Championships and a gold medal at the Warszawa Mityng WMOZLA. In the outdoor competitions, she excelled further by winning gold at the Slubice U18 Events and a silver at the Lodz U18 Events. She also participated in the Lodz Polish U18 Championships, where she narrowly missed the podium, finishing in 4th place.
Although 2014 wasn’t Magdalena Bokun’s standout year, as she left the Polish Junior Championships – both indoor and outdoor-empty-handed, she did achieve notable success by clinching gold at the Lidzbark Warminski and silver at the Biala Podlaska U20 events.
In 2015, Magdalena Bokun made significant strides in her athletic career, winning a gold medal at the Slubice U20 Events. Nevertheless, she fell just short of receiving accolades at the Polish Junior Championships, both in indoor and outdoor competitions. Throughout the season, she also ventured into the triple jump, where she achieved a bronze medal at the Biala Podlaska Polish Junior Championships.
In 2016, Magdalena Bokun participated in the Torun Polish Indoor Championships and Bydgoszcz Polish Championships for the long jump but did not secure a medal. However, she did achieve success by winning gold medals at the Jelenia Gora Polish U23 Championships and Biala Podlaska Polish Club Championships, and also claimed a bronze at the Maribor SLO-CZE-HUN-POL U23 Match.
Moving on to 2017, Magdalena Bokun narrowly missed out on her first Polish championships medal, finishing 5th at the Bialystok Polish Championships. She also competed at the Bydgoszcz European U23 Championships but did not advance to the finals, although she showcased her talent by winning gold at the Suwalki Polish U23 Championships.
In 2018, Magdalena Bokun had a successful season, securing silver medals at the Lublin Polish Championships, Torun Polish Indoor Championships, and Inowrocław Polish Club Championships. In 2019, Magdalena Bokun continued to excel as one of the top long jumpers in the country, achieving remarkable success. She secured silver medals at the Radom Polish Championships and Jelenia Gora Polish Club Championships, and also earned a bronze at the Irena Szewinska Memorial. Additionally, she clinched the gold at the Polish University Championships and the Torun Indoor Meeting.
Despite the abbreviated athletics season in 2020, Magdalena Bokun made significant strides, capturing silver at the Wloclawek Polish Championships, Poznan Grand Prix Meeting, and Janusz Sidlo Memorial. Furthermore, she achieved gold at the Memorial Zygmunt Szelest.
The year 2021 marked a significant milestone for Magdalena Bokun as she attained her most prestigious honors to date. She earned silver medals at the Chorzow European Athletics Team Championships Super League and at the Kip Keino Classic in Nairobi. As the season transitioned to outdoor competitions, her success continued to shine. She proudly secured silver medals at the Gorzow Wielkopolski Polish Championships and the prestigious Chengdu FISU World University Games, showcasing her unwavering dedication and athletic prowess. While her performances at the 69th ORLEN Janusz KusociÅ„ski Memorial and the European Athletics Team Championships First Division were highly commendable and demonstrated her relentless spirit, she unfortunately fell just short of achieving the ultimate victory. Nonetheless, her commitment, resilience, and passion for athletics have left an indelible mark, inspiring many to recognize the power of perseverance and determination in pursuing one’s dreams.
In 2024, Magdalena Bokun started the season by winning the gold at the Ogolnopolskie halowe zawody lekkoatletyczne in Torun, but also finished 4th at the prestigious Tampere Indoor Meeting and 6th at the Meeting Indoor Nantes Metropole. In February, she won the bronze at the Torun Polish Indoor Championships. During the outdoor season, she triumphed with the gold at the Trond Mohn Games and Gorzow Meeting, but also completed at the Roma European Athletics Championships, finishing 12th in the long jump final. Meanwhile, she won the silver Bydgoszcz Polish Championships and the bronze at the Piraeus Street Long Jump. During the Autumn, Magdalena Bokun announced her pregnancy and being out from the track and field for a while. However, her return is highly expected by the fans of the Polish athlete.
