
Polish sprinter Klaudia Adamek
Klaudia Adamek is a Polish track and field athlete. She competed at the 2021 World Athletics Relays, winning the gold at 4x100m relay and the silver the 4x100m relay events. She is also European Team Championships silver medalist in 4x100m relay and a national champion.
Klaudia Adamek was born on March 22, 1999. She started in athletics at an early age and showed great skills in running and sprints. Later she became European U18 Championships silver medalist in 1000m sprint medley, as well as bronze medalist in 100m.
Klaudia Adamek started in athletics already in 2012, competing at the Poznan U18 Events in 100m. During the next season, she won her first junior national title, triumphing at the Radom Polish U16 Championships in 100m. Meanwhile, she won the gold at the Bialogard Miting KL Iskra and Szczecin Meeting in 100m, but also finished third at the Grudziądz Meeting in 60m.
In 2014, Klaudia Adamek continue gaining experience in sprints, winning the 60m silver at the Grudziadz Meeting, 100m gold at the Biaiogard Meeting and Poznan U16 Events.
In 2015, Klaudia Adamek won the 100m silver at the 13th European Youth Olympic Festival in Tbilisi and also competed at the Cali IAAF World Youth Championships, but did not qualify for the finals. Meanwhile, she won the 100m gold at the Bydgoszcz European Athletics Festival. During the season, she triumphed with the 60m gold at the Torun Polish U18 Indoor Championships and two more junior gold medals at the Lodz Polish U18 Championships in 100m and 200m.
Klaudia Adamek started the 2016 season by winning another junior gold at the Spala Polish U18 Indoor Championships in 60m. She won the 4x100m relay gold and 100m bronze at the Warszawa Polish Club Championships and 100m bronze at the Kutno Mityng o Rozę Kutna. At the Bydgoszcz European Athletics Festival she finished 6th in 100m, while at the Janusz Kusocinski Memorial in Szczecin she finished 5th in 100m. In June, Klaudia Adamek debuted at senior national championship, competing at the Bydgoszcz Polish Championships in 100m and 200m, but did not overcome the heats. Later during the season she won her mist prestigious honor so far, winning the 100m bronze and 1000m sprint medley silver at the Tbilisi European U18 Championships. She competed also at the Bydgoszcz IAAF World U20 Championships, finishing 4th in 4x100m relay. Klaudia Adamek ended the season by two more gold medals at the Wroclaw Polish U18 Championships in 100m and 200m.
In 2017, Klaudia Adamek continue being one of the top junior athletes, winning the 60m gold at the Torun Polish U20 Indoor Championships. During the indoor season, she competed at the Torun Copernicus Cup in 60m, but did not reached the finals, while at the Lodz Orlen Cup finished 8th in 60m. During the outdoor season, she won the 100m gold at the Bydgoszcz European Athletics Festival and Toruń Memorial Grzegorz Dunecki, as well as the 200m silver at the Kutno Mityng o Roze Kutna. Klaudia Adamek finished 6th at the Grosseto European U20 Championships and 8th at the Kamila Skolimowska Memorial in Warszawa, both in 100m. Meanwhile, she won the 100m gold and 200m silver at the Torun Polish U20 Championship.
Klaudia Adamek started the 2018 season by winning the 60m silver and 200m bronze at the Torun Polish U20 Indoor Championships. At the Bydgoszcz European Athletics Festival, she finished 4th, while at the Janusz Kusocinski Memorial in Chorzow was 6th, both in 100m. She won the 100m and 4x100m relay gold medals at the Vyskov CZE-HUN-POL-SLO-SVK U20 Match, as well as 100m bronze and 200m silver at the Wloclawek Polish U20 Championships. At the end of the season, she competed at the Tampere IAAF World U20 Championships in 100m, but did not finished still during the heats.
In 2019, Klaudia Adamek missed the indoor season, starting only in June. However, she won the 200m gold at the Lublin Polish U23 Championships, but by the end of the year, finished 8th in 100m and 7th in 200m at the Poznan Athletics Grand Prix, as well as 5th in 100m at the Mityng o Roze Kutna.
Klaudia Adamek won her first national honor in 2020, winning the 100m bronze at the Wloclawek Polish Championships. Meanwhile, she won the 60m gold at the Torun National Indoor Meeting and PZLA Indoor Control Meeting in Spala, as well as the 100m gold at the Jozef Xylewicz Memorial in Gdansk and Biala Podlaska Polish U23 Championships, 200m gold at the NCDC Cup in Szczecin, and 100m silver at the Poznan Grand Prix Meeting. Meanwhile, she competed at the ORLEN Copernicus Cup, Irena Szewinska Memorial in Bydgoszcz, and Janusz Kusocinski Memorial in Chorzow, but did not earned a honor.
In 2021, Klaudia Adamek was part of the Polish team for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, competing in 4x100m relay. However, they did not overcome the heats and were not able to compete for the medals. During the season Klaudia Adamek finished 7th at the Tallinn European Athletics U23 Championships in 100m and won 4x100m relay silver at the Chorzow European Athletics Team Championships Super League. Her biggest achievement during the season was winning the 4x200m gold and 4x100m silver at the Chorzow World Athletics Relays. Meanwhile, she won the 100m silver at the Poznan Polish Championships.
In 2022, Klaudia Adamek won her first and only national title, triumphing in 4x100m gold at the Suwalki Polish Championships. She also won the 4x100m bronze at the Birmingham Diamond League Meeting, although the event was promotional only.
Klaudia Adamek had only one appearance at athletics forum in 2023. She competed at the prestigious 69° ORLEN Janusz Kusocinski Memorial in Chorzow in 100m, but did not qualify for the finals.
In 2024, she competed at the Torun Polish Indoor Championships in 60m, but again did not reached the finals.
During the last years, Klaudia Adamek shared her time between track and field athletics and bobsleigh.
