World record holder in the 60m hurdles Devynne Charlton defended her world gold from Glasgow at the 2025 World Athletics Indoor Championships in Nanjing, China. The Bahamian won in a highly contested final with a personal best of the season of 7.72 sec.
European indoor champion from Apeldoorn 2025 Ditaji Kambundji won her first world championship medal. The 22-year-old Swiss athlete fought for silver with 7.73 sec.
Thousands of seconds separated the bronze medalist, the fourth and fifth in this final. World champion for girls in the 100m hurdles from Nairobi 2021 Ackera Nugent (Jamaica) won the bronze with 7.74 (.735) sec. She was on the verge of being eliminated from the final after breaking the bar at the last hurdle in the semifinals and losing her balance, but in the end she managed to finish with a good result and compete for the honors.
Fourth place went to Pia Skrzyszowska with a new Polish national record of 7.74 (.738) sec, and fifth place went to American athlete Grace Stark with 7.74 (.740) sec.
Sixth in this final, Nadine Visser (Netherlands) also recorded a strong result of 7.76 sec.
