
American runner Addison Wiley
Addison Wiley is a professional middle- and long-distance runner from the United States and currently holds the American Record in the 1000m. She earned a bronze medal at the 2026 World Indoor Championships and also triumphed in the 2026 National Indoor Championships. She is the national and North American record holder in 1,000m, clocking 2:30.71 min at the 2025 Diamond League’s Meeting International d’Athletisme Herculis EBS in Monaco.
Addison Wiley has achieved the title of eight-time NAIA national champion in both cross country and track and field. She previously set the high school national record for the 1600m with a time of 4:26.16 and holds the collegiate record for the 1500m with a time of 3:59.17. In 2022, she finished 5th in the 1500m at the World Athletics U20 Championships and secured a gold medal at the NACAC U23 Championships in 2023. Additionally, she placed 2nd at the USATF indoor championships in the 800m, which qualified her for the 2024 World Indoor Championships in Glasgow, United Kingdom.
Born on October 24, 2003, in Huntington, Indiana, USA, Addison Wiley attended Huntington North High School.
In 2019, Addison Wiley won the second final at the New Balance Nationals Outdoor in 800m, while in 2021 won the gold at the NSAF USA Meet of Champions on one mile and silver in 5,000m> meanwhile, she won the 800m gold at the Warsaw Tiger Showcase, SPIRE Scholastic Showcase and the bronze at the Brooks PR Invitational.
In 2022, Addison Wiley made her international debut, finishing 5th in 1,500m at the Cali World Athletics U20 Championships. During the season, she triumphed with 3,000m gold at the Grand Valley State Holiday Open and GVSU Bob Eubanks Open, 1,500m gold at the Eugene USA U20 Championships and Circle logistics presents The Monday Meet @ Indiana Tech, as well as 800m and 1,000m gold at the IWU Invitational in Marion.
Addison Wiley continue showing her skills and talent in 2023, making her Diamond League debut, finishing 8th in 1,500m at the Memorial van Damme in Brussels, Belgium. Earlier she finished 2nd in 800m at the Gala dei Castelli in Bellinzona, Switzerland, 5th in 1,500m at the Eugene USA Championships, and won the gold in 1,500m at the Music City Track Carnival and San Jose NACAC U23 Championships. Meanwhile, at the NAIA Track & Field National Championships she won the gold in 800m and 1,500m.
In 2024, Addison Wiley won her first national honor, finishing second in 800m at the Albuquerque USA Indoor Championships. Earlier she finished 4th at the prestigious New Balance Indoor Grand Prix in Boston. She competed at the Glasgow World Athletics Indoor Championships in 800m, but did not qualify for the final. Addison Wiley finished 11th in 1,500m at the both Wanda Diamond League and Eugene U.S. Olympic Team Trials. In August, she won the gold at the International Wieslaw Maniak Memorial in 800m and Mityng Ambasadorow Białostockiego Sportu in 1,000m, before earning her first Diamond League honor at the Weltklasse Zurich, where finished 3rd in 800m. She ended the season by winning the 800m silver at the Gala dei Castelli in Bellinzona and finished 4th at the Athlos NYC.
Addison Wiley continue gaining experience in 2025, keeping the pace of her results. She earned another Diamond League bronze at the Meeting International Mohammed VI d’Athletisme de Rabat in 800m and finished 6th in 1,500m and 800m at the Grand Slam Track Philadelphia. She continue the season by winning the silver at the Diamond League’s Meeting International d’Athletisme Herculis EBS in Monaco in 1,000m and London Athletics Meet in 800m, but by the end of the season failed to earn a honor at the Eugene USA Championships in 800m, finishing only 9th, and Portland USATF Cross Country Championships, finishing 10th.
In 2026, however, Addison Wiley was under the spotlight, winning her first national title, triumphing at the New York USA Indoor Championships and winning the bronze at the Torun World Athletics Indoor Championships, both in 800m. Meanwhile, she won the 1,000m silver at the prestigious Millrose Games in New York.
